Our Firm's Origins

Originally established in 1958, Goolsby| Proctor enjoys a broad practice supported by a strong, well-balanced, and diverse client base. We represent businesses, business owners and individuals in the areas of civil litigation (including business litigation, insurance defense, complex insurance disputes, Indian law and personal injury), commercial transactions (including commercial contracts, corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions, and private equity/venture capital), workers’ compensation, estate planning and GPHG is proud of its reputation for professionalism and stability. The firm is unique in that it offers its clients large law firm capabilities and opportunities accompanied by the personal attention of a smaller organization. We emphasize teamwork and are committed to excellence. We take pride in our attorneys’ ability to listen and be responsive to the needs and goals of our clients.

Goolsby| Proctor has a long tradition of service to its clients in Oklahoma and around the country. For over half a century GPHG has been committed to being responsive to the needs and goals of it clients. GPHG was originally formed as the Manners Law Firm in 1958 by the late Don Manners. The firm originally focused its practice in the areas of insurance defense and personal injury. The firm continued with a single shareholder until 1993. In 1993, the firm became Manners, Goolsby & Olson. The firm continued its litigation practice; primarily representing businesses and individuals in insurance defense and personal injury matters. In 1996, Mr. Manners left the firm and the firm became Goolsby, Olson & Proctor. In 2001, the firm began to expand its practice by adding a business practices group. In 2008, the firm became Goolsby, Proctor, Heefner & Gibbs, P.C. GP is proud of its reputation for professionalism and stability. Today our tradition of commitment to our clients executed with practical judgment remains highly respected among our peers. In 2022 the firm transitioned to becoming Goolsby| Proctor with a renewed focus on serving our clients.

We recognize that our most important resource is our talented and committed people. Attorneys and staff are friendly at all levels and work together on a wide range of matters. We are sensitive to our members’ needs and endeavor to promote a quality work/life balance.
The members of GP consider the other members of the Firm as family. We facilitate this family environment through monthly Firm lunches, Friday donuts, and tailgate parties at every University of Oklahoma home football game, the Firm Christmas Party, the occasional happy hour, and various many family gatherings.
